we watched it eventually!
well,i must say that i think most of the people wouldnt like this movie.
theres this woman (julia roberts),after a divorce, trying to find peace - as she said. she goes to italy (eat),to india (pray) and to bali (love?). it was like a documentary,i mean more like a mixture of those adverts like "visit india" and stuff, and a description of how she had changed along her journey. the kind of movie that people would get bored of. even myself, despite the fact that i could really identify myself with the role julia roberts played. it made me think about a lot of things, and maybe even had an effect on me - my neighbour says the woman was always crying, but i admire her for being strong enough to quit her marriage,to realise that she wants a new life, and although it took a long time for her to actually reach her goal, she made it eventually, and thats the point.
anyway,we agreed that the italian part was too long (not to mention the whole movie was about 140 minutes...),and we didnt understand why it was all about cooking. and the music was... i dont know, maybe im just not in the mood. but there was the heart of gold, which i like.
lets post it.
but then the brazilian music in bali... aaah i dont like brazilian music, too soft and cheesy. after all,the guy was brazilian,so... whatever.
and the funniest thing was that my neighbour had come to see this one because of that spanish guy and he had been on screen for 10 minutes i guess:D:D
the book has to be way better. all these emotions and conclusions written down must be good to read, instead of seeing some people trying to act. i definitely wouldnt have made a movie of that book.
update: a thing i did like: in india she wore a badge with "i'm being silent" or something like that written on it. i want to do the same. lets say,on sunday im not gonna speak. to anybody.
